Lonavla is often referred to as the 'Jewel of the Sahyadri' and the 'City of Caves'. Numerous places to visit in Lonavala including historical sites, natural wonders, religious attractions, forts, water parks, wax statues and monuments.

Lonavla is known for the production of various crispy sweet chickpeas and is also a major stop on the railway line connecting Mumbai and Pune. Local trains are available from Pune Suburbs, Pune Junction. Both the Mumbai-Pune Expressway and the Mumbai-Bangalore Highway pass through Lonavla.

Lonavla is a hill station near Mumbai surrounded by green valleys in western India. Carla Caves and Bhadsa Caves are ancient Buddhist temples carved into the rock. It has large pillars and intricate relief sculptures. To the south of Bhaja Leni is the magnificent Lohgad fort with 4 gates. To the west is the Bhushi Dam, where water overflows on the steps during the rainy season, as well as the Tung Fort and the sacred lake. Every year tourists come here to enjoy Varsha Vihara.
